Biologist / Wetland Scientist

Exeltech Consulting, Inc. is seeking a biologist/wetland scientist to join our highly skilled team of environmental and engineering professionals. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a full-service team providing the highest quality consulting services to the public and private sectors in the fields of transportation, planning, urban development, and environmental restoration. We are seeking individuals with the ability to evaluate transportation project impacts and to work as part of a project team to prepare permitting applications and related environmental documentation with the goal of obtaining permits and approvals for project construction. Desired experience includes wetland delineation in developed and undeveloped environments; document findings according to US Army Corps of Engineers standards; and prepare permitting documents. Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) Certification is preferred, but not required. Experience with habitat assessment and documentation for compliance with the Federal Endangered Species Act.

Minimum Education

  • BS in the Biological/Physical/Environmental Sciences or related fields

Desired Skills, Experience and Qualities

  • Ten (10) years minimum professional experience

  • Wetland delineation and report preparation

  • Transportation project planning and permitting

  • NEPA/SEPA documentation

  • Clean Water Act Section 404 permitting

  • Prepared Biological Assessments under ESA Section 7

  • Client/Agency interaction and permitting

  • Good technical writing skills

  • Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, (GIS preferred but not required)

  • Strong desire for career growth and advancement
