An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join Exeltech, a leading, multi-discipline engineering consulting firm, in our Lacey or Seattle, WA, Beaverton, OR or Missoula MT offices.  

We are looking for a passionate and motivated engineer with an interest in structural buildings engineering and leading a group of committed professionals.  

Job Description

• Perform analysis and design and prepare technical reports for structural projects, which include buildings, retaining and shoring walls, transit and waterfront structures, municipal facilities, parking structures, etc.

• Perform quality control of calculations and plan sheets. 

• Mentor staff and growth within the organization.

• Marketing and business development in the Public and Private markets.

• Read, interpret, and produce complex plans.

• Work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and other team members.

• Experience using structural analysis programs and design software.

• As applicable, serve as a technical lead to review, assign work and/or check design calculations and quantities by junior engineers.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, advanced degree preferred.

• 8 years of structural design engineering experience

• Experience in seismic design and analysis

• Working knowledge of framing and building systems, including wood, steel, concrete and masonry

• Self-starter with a desire to work and learn with a great group of engineers and ability to work in an environment that can occasionally be fast paced.

• Registered Civil Engineer in Washington State, Registered Structural Engineer in Washington State preferred.

• 8 years of structural design engineering experience
