Job Description: An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Structural Engineer to join Exeltech Consulting, a leading, multi-discipline engineering consulting firm, in our Lacey or Seattle, Washington, or Beaverton, Oregon offices.

We are looking for a passionate and motivated engineer with an interest in structural buildings engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis and design and prepare technical reports for structural projects which include buildings, but also bridges, retaining walls, transit and waterfront structures, municipal facilities, and parking structures.

• Perform quality control of calculations and plan sheets

• Mentor staff and growth within the organization

• Read, interpret, and produce complex plans

• Work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and other team members

• As applicable, serve as a technical lead to review, assign work, and/or check design calculations and quantities by junior engineers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, advanced degree preferred

• 5-6 years of structural design engineering experience

• Experience in seismic design and analysis

• Experience using structural analysis programs and design software

• Working knowledge of framing and building systems, including wood, steel, concrete and masonry

• Self-starter with a desire to work and learn with a great group of engineers and ability to work in an environment that can occasionally be fast paced.

• Registered Professional Engineer (Civil) in Washington State, Registered Structural Engineer in Washington State preferred

• Eight years of structural design engineering experience
